Thank you for all your work!
While I am nor related to Martin Luther I have extensive research of over 1 million names with a documented connection of my wife,s to Charlemagne from very smart people in Germany.
I have looked at your work, and it is outstanding, but my question is how much research has been done to the ancestors of Martin Luther and if so does he connect to German Royalty?
Thank you for any response

Thank you for your comment. It does not appear that Martin Luther’s parents had any ancestors who were royalty. Knowledgeable scholars seem agree that one cannot trace Luther’s heritage much farther back than his great-grandparents. If you haven’t already found it please check out my blog entry Hans Luder (Luther) – An Ancestor with a Drive to Succeed .
If you are able to find further information on Martin Luther’s ancestors, I would be very interested. Also, Katharina von Bora was supposedly the daughter of a minor nobleman.
Cheryl, Frederick Daubenbis!! Holy Cow! Believe it or not, his original Civil War Enlistment Photo is actually sitting on my livingroom mantel. I did an internet search a decade ago, but did not find anything. My son did it again this morning, and your website popped up. I cant seem to add an attachment to this post, but would be glad to send you copies along with brief handwritten description on the back. My husband is a decendant of Frederick on his maternal grandmothers side, Sophie Daubenbis Kennedy.
